Irvine Adult Day Health Services’ Casino Night and Dinner held on Saturday, September 24, 2011 was a huge success! This years’ event exceeded our expectations and raised over $57,000 to benefit the seniors in our adult day services program thanks to the generous support of our Sponsors, Silent Auction & Opportunity Drawing Contributors, Donors and Guests.
Special thanks go out to one of our Caregivers, Janelle Odishoo, who spoke from the heart about how Irvine Adult Day Health Services has made a difference in her mother’s life and that of her family’s. Janelle spoke of the challenges of being a caregiver and how the planned elimination of the Medi-Cal Benefit for Adult Day Health Care will affect her mom and family. She bravely shared her concerns about what her mom and family, and all our other Medi-Cal families will do after the benefit for our program is no longer available to them. Janelle graciously expressed her appreciation of our staff and the care her mother receives from them. What will families like Janelle’s do?
With the generosity of a small but mighty number of event guests, Irvine Adult Day Health Services raised $11,500 specifically to support the Center’s Scholarship Assistance Fund! These contributions will help sponsor Days of Care to some of our seniors on Medi-Cal so they can continue to participate in our program after the elimination of the benefit takes effect on December 1, 2011.
